TLDR
Most of our members love participating in our DAO for the NFT alpha, and connecting with other members. Most members do not have a lot of time to provide the DAO due to their daily lives, so we need to make learning and participating as easy as possible. What we can improve is:
- Better communication:
- Weekly updates for both the DAO at large, and from individual working groups on milestones.
- Refined Discord structure to reduce notifications to only critical ones like calls to action to vote or Studio Drops, and make information easier to find.
- Consistent reinforcement of the DAOs main goals. Both short and long term, which includes an internal and external roadmap.
- Empowering Members:
- Create a “How To Start,” for members who want to help. Including how to join working groups.
- Track and define tasks in a single location. When possible, break these tasks or jobs into maximum 5-10 hour increments in order to allow low bandwidth members to contribute.
- Reward participation through bounties.
Intro and Methodology
On March 10th, we ran our first ever community survey through Google Forms for DAO members. The things we wanted to understand were:
- Where are members are located.
- How Members joined the DAO.
- What member’s skill sets are, and what they might want them to be.
- How engaged our members are in Discord, and by voting.
- How likely they are to recommend gm DAO to a friend.
- How easy it is to understand what’s going on, how easy it is to contribute, what is holding them back from contributing, and how much time they would want to contribute per week.
We received responses from 107 of 732 verified Discord members. A response rate of 14%, a healthy representative sample for feedback. A copy of the survey, including the questions we asked our members can be found here.
Summary of Findings
Our Members
The majority of our members find the funnest part of being in the DAO sharing or finding crypto alpha, chatting with each other, and of course—saying, “gm!”
