1- PIAC : Summary

gmDAO needed to create a structure and foster an environment that is welcoming and shows commitment to members that would like to pursue revenue generating projects.

Formation of the Project Incentive Award Committee (PIAC): Purpose of the committee is to review business plans, provide feedback to strengthen the business case, and ultimately vote whether to a) give the award and b) send the project proposal directly to a full-DAO vote.

Members applied to be on the committee. -They were voted on by a full-DAO vote. -Top-3 by poll were added to the committee -Committee members are compensated $500 USDC each per application review (up-to a maximum of 10 applications per year)

In the unlikely event that a PIAC member is not meeting acceptable review and feedback standards, they can be removed from PIAC at any time via 2/3rds vote of PIAC or a full DAO vote.

Process: To apply for an award, the applicant group would present a proposal (business-plan) for a project to the PIAC for review. PIAC considers the active proposal and provides feedback until the group agrees it is finalized. If passed by the full PIAC, a $10,000 award will be given to the applicant/applicant group as the initial funding for the project. The proposal would move directly to a full-DAO vote (skip discussion). If passed by a full-DAO, the applicants would pursue the project as slated in the proposal.

The requirements for the proposals are: -That they meet the mission statement of gmDAO -That all expenses/equity split/compensation rates are clearly accounted for -Be projected as cashflow positive to the DAO treasury over the proposed term -Preferential consideration would be given to projects that have some sort of reciprocal value to gm.embers -During the first year, this program would be exclusively available to gmDAO members -Be framed as a formal business proposal to the greatest extent possible

2- What is expected from the submissions ?

The submission will be reviewed following the PIA Guidelines published below :

3- Submission process

The submission process should be an always improving process.

For the first submissions, and waiting for the PIAC to provide a submission template, the process will be the following:

  1. Submit your proposal, covering the points listed in Guidelines
  2. PIAC provides an estimated review timeline
  3. PIAC provides the feedback on the initial submission within a call with the project - aiming to provide it within a maximum of 2 weeks. The process involves reading the proposal, setting a call to discuss internally, reviewing individually the proposal, and consolidating the review to present it to candidates.
  4. Candidates present their final submission to the PIAC.
